The animated film “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” released in 2018, exposes audiences to the concept of multiple spider-people, or “spider-people,” from different dimensions coming together in the same reality to fight a formidable foe. The eagerly anticipated sequel “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” set to be released in 2023, shifts into a higher gear by utilizing this foundation.
Fans of Spider-Man will get the opportunity to meet a myriad of characters with spider powers from all throughout the Spider-Verse, as the title suggests. To everyone’s surprise, though, they won’t get to see the version of Spider-Man from the Marvel Cinematic Universe portrayed by Tom Holland, who seems like he would be a natural fit for the animated movie.
In both “Into the Spider-Verse” and “Across the Spider-Verse,” Tom Holland’s interpretation of the web-slinger does not appear in any manner that is particularly noteworthy. However, according to the concept art for the second film, there was supposed to be a cameo appearance from him of some form at some point along the way. According to @SpiderMan_Newz on Twitter, a “Across the Spider-Verse” production book that is scheduled to be released in December includes a piece of concept art featuring a shorter, stylized take on Holland’s Spider-Man. More specifically, the image depicts Holland’s Spider-Man wearing the black and red “Spider-Man: Far From Home” upgraded suit while standing among a large number of other spider-people.
It is anyone’s guess as to why this version of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man was omitted from “Across the Spider-Verse,” but considering the trajectory of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it is reasonable to assume that he will be added to the “Spider-Verse” mix in the near future.
Following the conclusion of the Infinity Saga inside the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the fourth and fifth Phases have shifted their attention to the multiverse. As a result, the new era within the MCU is being referred to as the Multiverse Saga. Fans now have a better understanding of how the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s multiverse functions because to the groundwork established by projects such as “Loki” on Disney+ and the cinematic adventure “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.” It is hard to talk about the Tom Holland-led 2021 favorite “Spider-Man: No Way Home” and not mention the latest creative curiosity in the blockbuster franchise, which is “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”
The animated film “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” provided audiences with a Spider-Man crossover some years before the live-action film “No Way Home” did the same thing. After the multiverse is thrown into chaos, Holland teams up with legacy Spider-Man actors Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire to defeat a group of iconic big-screen Spider-Man villains. Together, they plan to save Peter Parker. Even while the three webheads and Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) generally fix things up by the conclusion, it stands to reason that Holland’s Peter Parker hasn’t seen his last multiversal adventure, especially with movies such as the universe-colliding “Avengers: Secret Wars” on the horizon.
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is aware of parallel universes, the “Spider-Verse” series has infinite potential, so surely it’s only a matter of time until Holland gets a full turn in the animated multiverse limelight. This is because of the MCU’s multiverse kick, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is aware of parallel universes, and the “Spider-Verse” series has limitless potential.
